The message from Klitoris

I wondered why he decided to use the term "klitoris" as in clitoris? Yes! That same clitoris.
I had the same shock as you so I  went online wanting to know why such title but  his answer online shocked me more. So, All this while, klitoris meant key?

Well according to Wikipedia on The etymology of Clitoris, it stated that the Oxford English Dictionary states the word clitoris has its origin in the Ancient Greek kleitoris, meaning key. In addition to key, the Online Etymology Dictionary suggests other Greek candidates for the word's etymology include verb meaning "to touch or titillate lasciviously", "to tickle" (one German synonym for the clitoris is der Kitzler, "the tickler"), although this verb is more likely derived from "clitoris"; and a word meaning "side of a hill", from the same root as "climax". Thanks to Brymo for the discovery, klitoris is key, klitoris is to tickle. Amazing!

So, this song is not pornographic nor include terms as assumed by the title given but a key to your soul and a tickle to re-awaken your mind. It's a call to reawakening!

Seriously, all you need to do is listen to these songs and realise truly Brymo again has passed great  message across in this album- klitoris. I not only adore this singer because he's a singer but because he talks to the soul and uses art to its climax (permit me to say to klitoris, lols.). He's a poet and wide reader as far as I am concerned. Which is also evident in the way he puts his lines together as well as a track titled "the way the cookie crumbles", a common idiom as well as book title by James Hardley Chase .

Klitoris has 11 tracks but then, I would pick just five which I loved best, please you can as well add yours with reasons using the comment button and if you haven't heard of this album then here is the link for free download;

Hmmm, so from which track do i start? I love 'em equally. Okay, here is what I will do
The five are: naked (ft his baby mama-Esse), Dem dey Go, Mirage, Alajo somolu and let's make love.

Eenie meenie mannie moore,  catchya player by a toe if you wanna let him go. Yes!" From "dem dey go" I would begin.

Listening to "Dem dey go", the first message that came to my mind was NIGERIA from the lyrics "once upon a time, some people come together, made a plan.... agreement between one another... dem dey go, Dem dey fight... ... one silly, one sneaky and the other sneazy. I tell Dem if dem nor wan gree make em scatter..." but then I realised it was more than that.
It talks about relationships generally,  be it friendship, marital or business. It is expected that rifts would come but when it becomes excessive, find a different path that suits each of the party which maybe total separation or just introducing diversity.

Eenie meenie mannie moore,  catchya player by a toe if you wanna let him go. Naked!
So, I felt this was a message to remind us that with nothing we came and with nothing we shall return but a friend added more as seen in the  image below

Do you have a different interpretation to this deep soul song? Kindly share with us all.

Eenie meenie mannie moore,  catchya player by a toe if you wanna let him go.
And this time, it's "let make love"
Don't even think it! It's nothing about sex, it's literal translation.
Using some lines from the song like "I was born with greed and evil, sin.. it's in my flesh.. I trust only me.. too blind to see... let's make love". How poetic!
Well, yeah, literally I would say it feels like making love the way we make ice cream, not the sex way. Like creation of love. It talks of human imperfection but ready to learn and live as one.

Eenie meenie mannie moore,  catchya player by a toe if you wanna let him go.
"Ori mi pe, bi Alajo somolu o...."  yeah, this song, I guess track 5 is so cool that aside holding deep meanings, it's a funny comparison. Ever heard of "esusu "? Well, esusu is more like daily contribution between group of people in which turns are being taken to use the money and the sole initiator of the idea go around to collect the money, the customer intends to save with him/her while in some cases, turns are being taken for the collection too.
Alajo somolu is the daily contribution collector from somolu, name of a town (for the sake of my non Yoruba readers).
So back to the line, "Ori mi pe, bi Alajo somolu o...." using transliteration for easy understanding means "my head is correct like that of the Alajo Somolu" talks about being able to survive in hard situations as well as living fine on little by understanding our situations.

Eenie meenie mannie moore,  catchya player by a toe if you wanna let him go.
Finally! Mirage! (Continuous drum beat)
Leave the past in past, let tomorrow stay where it belongs worry not until it becomes today and when it becomes today? Live it to the fullest and leave it to rest forever in the past. That is the message I got from mirage. Lemme leave you with some lines from it, recite it meditatively if you have not listened to the song yet and sing it whole heartedly if you have.

"Let us get high
Before fall from the sky
Maybe we can grow wings
And maybe we won't
Tomorrow is still far
Today will be enough
Do let us get high
Before fall from the sky "

Told ya, Brymo is a poet but please ooooooo, let us get high doesn't mean nor teach doing drugs o. Get high by listening to the song and digesting it instead.

I wish i could write more like on something good is happening, the way cookies crumble, ko S'aya mi (be my wife), the girl from new york, happy memories and finally, billion naira dream but then, I really do await your comments and views on this album.

But then, here is an insight into 'em

  2. When i heard the title of the album is kli..kli..too..ris (hmm i still find it hard to pronounce) i was shocked! But not anymore and i'll say thanks to mr ashimi olawale for such an inspirational album and also say happy birthday in arrears to him (he clocked 30 early this month and released the album on his birthday date). After sopping myself in klitoris, i can't still tell which of the song is my favourite because in sheer invidiousness its like a man listing his children in the order in which he loves them. Speaking of peculiar attractiveness, i'll first go for Billion Naira Dream-its a song i fully relate to, and i found myself listening to it over and over again which makes me own the song and give it my own meaning. To be succint, the lyrics goes like this...
Oh times are changing, and no all things remain the same
the air, we're breathing, is enough for everyone of us (my question is: is it really enough cuz we all seem to be searching for more).
the future you speak of is here the hour of harvest is near(yesterday is now today, so many years have pootled away, whats our achievement?)
I'm telling stories, in the songs i sing, searching for glory in the life that I live. To help me fill the future that i see.
To make come true, my billion dollar dream (lol... i get small, big eyes my own dreams are in dollars).
I am a man with many faces and my life is in many phases (we all go thru many phases in life-happy, sad etc.). I crawl when am running, I am cold when am burning
Help me remember myself, I am lost in the man I become(our dreams should make us greedy, overly-ambitious thereby losing the sole reason reason of our existence).
    Simple, poetic and creative.
